Through collaboration with BTG Interventional Medicine, XperCT Dual offers optimized image acquisition protocols for visualizing radiopaque embolic beads (i.e. LC Bead LUMI™). Using Live Image Guidance to visualize delivery of the beads during the arterial embolization of a hypervascularized tumor, the clinician can see precisely where the beads go, in three-dimensions, providing greater insight into targeted delivery of the embolic material (the beads). These protocols have the potential to provide increased control by enabling real-time adjustments and enhanced determination of embolization endpoints, therefore optimizing patient treatment. The task of the LUMI Beads is to help ensure that as much of the tumor as possible is treated, and establish a standardized/optimized treatment delivery plan.
