The width of the beam from any light bulb is largely dependent on its shape. From standard bulbs that have an almost spherical (360-degree) light distribution down to spots with a 25-35-degree beam angle. So keep in mind the width of the area you want to illuminate when choosing your luminaire....

Warm white lamps give a soft, yellowish light similar in color to that of filament lamps. Cool whites give a brighter, bluish-white illumination that's closer to daylight. Check the number on the bulb packaging: those under 3,000K produce warm light, while the higher numbers will give increasingly cooler light....
