The width of the beam from any light bulb is largely dependent on its shape. From standard bulbs that have an almost spherical (360-degree) light distribution down to spots with a 25-35-degree beam angle. So keep in mind the width of the area you want to illuminate when choosing your luminaire....

White light can have different color 'temperatures', which is measured in degrees Kelvin (K). The higher the number, the cooler the light color - and vice versa. Candlelight temperature is about 2,000K, energy-saving lamplight around 3,000K and sunny daylight is more than 6,000K. Graphics on bulb packaging let you know if the light temperature is warmer (cozier) or cooler (more energizing)....
